The Cine-Volos Quartier festival is back!

The second edition of “The Neighborhood of Cine-Volos” (4–9 November 2025) transforms the historic Cine-Volos area of Limassol into a living archive of memory, creativity, and coexistence. Organized by MITOS Center for Performing Arts, the festival explores the theme “The Neighborhood as a Living Archive,” inviting residents, artists, researchers, and students to co-create performances, walks, workshops, screenings, and public conversations.

Blending community participation, artistic practice, and ethnographic observation, the project highlights everyday voices, intergenerational encounters, and the diverse cultural layers of the neighborhood. It aims to strengthen social ties and reimagine urban life through shared experiences, storytelling, and collective care for place.

Curated by Elena Agathokleous, Konstantina Peter, Theodoros Kouros, and Eleni Pasia, the festival forms part of an ongoing collaboration between MITOS and the Ethnographic Research Lab at the Cyprus University of Technology.

Cine-Volos is a student-led project developed within the course Multimodal Anthropology (CIS-416). It explores the everyday life, transformations, and layered histories of the “Cine-Volos” neighborhood — an area shaped by waves of migration, industrial change, and recent processes of redevelopment and gentrification.
